The 50cc Piaggio Range
49cc models, also known as 50cc scooters are classified as mopeds,
the ones for sale in this sector of the Piaggio range are restricted to 30mph
and can be ridden on L-plates at 16 with a provisional licence and a CBT
or without restrictions - no L-plates and with passengers - on a full car licence
(if you passed after 2001 you will require a CBT to validate the AM entitlement)

The 125cc Piaggio Range
The 125cc models in the range are all fully automatic, they are better suited to longer journeys
and can all be ridden with L-plates following successful completion of a CBT.

-not to mention free parking in most towns and cities and
the freedom to move through stationary lines of traffic with ease.

The Piaggio Three Wheelers (Trikes)
The Piaggio MP3 range have a unique place in the marketplace, they handle the
same as a conventional 2 wheel scooter but, as they are classified as
A3 Motor tricycles (>15kw), they can be ridden on a full car licence;
in the UK and abroad by anyone who passed their car test prior to January 2013
within the UK by anyone over the age of 21 with a full car licence
(see Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) Regulations 2014)
They can all be ridden on motorways and pillion passengers can be carried,
there is no requirement to take a test or display L-plates.
